WELLA Trend Vision Awards 2009

The WELLA Trend Vision Awards 2009 were held in Camden at the Roundhouse on 29th September 2009.

I went alongside the HEBE team to support Jodie and she made everyone proud by winning the Bronze Award, which means that she came third in the UK! It was a great achievenment for Jo especially as it was her first year competing!

The evening got underway with a champagne reception and it was followed by a three course dinner, the presentation of the awards by Jo Whiley and Feeder played at the end of the night! It was massive!

Here’s some pictures I took on the night with Ra’s D60 since my camera died a few nights before and she had kindly offered to lend me hers (cos she’s lovely like that )

WELLA Trend Vision Awards 2009, what is it? Ok well thanks for asking lol, this is the hair industry’s most prestigious awards event. My client HEBE Hair Salons is one of the competitors who made it through to the UK Finals, hair by the fiercely talented Jodie Hutchinson and photo by your very own Panda Boy.
So Jodie made it to the finals but that was only the beginning because the final show required meticulous preparation and hours of planning.

First of all, adhering to the theme (UTOPIA) Jo had to come up with a hairstyle that would speak for itself, she then had to be very careful with the colour, paying attention to detail and finally she had to dress the model in an outfit that also followed the theme. So it was a package – hair, colour, dress and shoes – they all had to flow together to convey the peaceful and clinical theme of UTOPIA.

I caught up with Jo one evening preparing and experimenting for the final cut at HEBE’s Strand salon:
